Rubber Die Cutting
|
Industrial rubber can be die cut using a variety of methods each delivering a combination of results, tolerances, price and quality. RubberForm can Waterjet cut, die-cut using steel forged steel dies for thick rubber or steel rule dies for thinner material. RubberForm’s team of experts along with its die-makers will develop a good grasp of your product needs, its applications, price point and then recommend the most cost-effective method that will deliver a high-quality solution. We listen first then develop the best solution.
Hand forged steel dies:
RubberForm’s die maker has been making dies since 1923. Throughout their history they have pioneered the use of forged dies for many applications which have included use in cut-in-place thermoforming, rubber mats and dock bumpers and many other thick rubber applications. Forged dies offer the ultimate in flexibility given their height-up to 8” high and rigidity-up to 1’2” thick. Through hardened up to 56 Rockwell C these dies are designed for high volume and demanding applications.
RubberForm’s die maker utilizes many of the traditional shaping, industrial blacksmithing techniques that are part of the history of the most rugged dies in the world. Finishing techniques have evolved to include tool post grinding on large round dies and CNC hard machining or wire EDM on smaller more intricate dies. Suitable for high volume and long run applications our steel forged dies remain the industry standard for the ultimate in high quality cutting dies.
Steel Rule Die-Cutting:
This is one of the most common forms of custom die-cutting which includes creating a "steel rule" that is bent and formed to customer specification for cutting and stamping out parts and components.
