THE SITUATION
Logic Packaging, a comprehensive engineering consultant group, kept having pump housings get damaged in transit. They needed a way to secure them safely during transportation from one plant location to another before shipment.
Keep the Pumps Safe
The pump housings weren’t getting damaged by the walls of the shipping container, but by bumping into each other as they moved from one plant location to another before shipment. Even heavy cardboard sheets separating them weren’t working. Something heavy-duty, like a “wheel chock” screwed to a strip of rubber material was needed.
Our Innovation
RubberForm worked with the plant manager and packing team at Logic Packaging to develop a rubber mat and wedge holder to keep their pumps safe in transit to work sites. We screwed 4” EPDM Extruded Ribbed Wedge Chocks into a Crumb Rubber Mat and built in various widths to hold the pumps securely in open shipping containers.
It Worked
The prototypes we built worked to protect the pumps in transit from plant to plant, so we turned them into a custom product we could mass produce for Logic Packaging and anyone else with a similar need.
