What is the size of your speed cushion?
Our standard-sized RubberForm Speed Cushion is 78″W x 80″L. However, we are able to customize and make them larger or smaller on a case-by-case basis.
How are your speed cushions installed?
Unlike our competition, RubberForm Speed Cushions are manufactured with proprietary recycled composite rubber and plastic material, making them lighter and easier to install. Each section has 4 mounting holes and dog bones to hold the 10-piece Speed Cushion together. Unlike our competitors, with their tongue and groove system that’s known to come apart, our municipal customers tell us our product is preferred for its convenience and longevity. Each hardware kit consists of lag bolts (either stainless steel or zinc plated), plastic shields and washers, plus dog bones and rubber caps for the mounting holes.
Can a municipality buy directly from rubberform?
Yes, we encourage it. Take advantage of our government discount and have your municipal public works crew or certified contractor to install. It will save you money, and installation is very straightforward.
What is the difference between a speed cushion and a speed table?
A Speed Cushion is installed where emergency vehicles need to operate, as not to impede on the way to an emergency call.
Please refer to this chart for vehicle wheelbase widths. A Speed Table typically runs across the entire width of a street, or longer. We recommend Speed Cushions first, and then determine if a speed table is needed. Please consult with your traffic engineer or engineering firm for proper specifications. What makes your speed cushion mutcd compliant for stripe coverage of more than xx%?
To be MUTCD compliant, you would need three white ramp arrows or a combination to fill the street width. Please consult with your traffic engineering team.
What are your white speed cushion arrows made of?
Unlike our competition which uses “in-mold decorated” yellow and white road tape with a scrim backing, (please see what they look like after just a few years on the road), RubberForm uses a thick, thermoformed plastic with glass beads that are seared after injection mold. If any of the arrow material breaks or wears off, your crew can burn on replacement material just like you do on your roadways using the same technology, and torches. RubberForm is the first company to develop this technique for traffic calming devices.
What is the turnaround time for your speed cushions?
Our Speed Cushions are in stock and can usually be shipped out the following day. Larger orders (greater than 100 units) may take longer – please provide us with enough time to manufacture and let us know when you will need delivery.

Yes, RubberForm is one of the only true U.S. manufacturers of Speed Cushions. They are made from domestically sourced scrap tire rubber and recycled plastics then manufactured and assembled in the U.S. We believe that this is the only way to maintain our high standard of quality control.
